- Lead (Pb): 105 +/- 18 ppm
- Chromium (Cr): 158 +/- 83 ppm
- Zinc (Zn): 66 +/- 19 ppm
- Copper (Cu): 105 +/- 35 ppm
- Nickel (Ni): 151 +/- 29 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 4,020 +/- 175 ppm
Inside Pages Without Front Cover
- Lead (Pb): 105 +/- 18 ppm
- Arsenic (As): 33 +/- 14 ppm
- Barium (Ba): 312 +/- 177 ppm
- Chromium (Cr): 215 +/- 87 ppm
- Zinc (Zn): 87 +/- 20 ppm
- Copper (Cu): 125 +/- 36 ppm
- Nickel (Ni): 147 +/- 29 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 4,334 +/- 177 ppm
The amount of lead considered toxic in a newly manufactured item intended for use by children is anything 90 ppm or higher in the paint or coating or anything 100 ppm or higher in the substrate.
Vintage books often have lead.
