When tested with an XRF instrument this Corona BP 3640 Ergo-Action Bypass Hand Pruner was negative for lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As) and mercury (Hg) on all components.
Overall this seems like a good choice/ good brand. This one is mine, that I purchased in 2016 for trimming my roses, etc. We got the one with the ergonomic handle and spring action so that it would be easier for me to use (I have fairly small hands.)
For items like this it is not uncommon for the rubberized handle to be positive for lead or for other elements to be painted with leaded paint (even with recently manufactured items) so to find one that is completely lead-free is terrific!

Bought these and they arrived today, the handle looks different…the red is like a gritty non-slip textured material and not this glossy smooth material as I am used to in older Corona and Felco pruners. Might this be cause for concern?

I just bought this one through your link , and it has the prop 65 warning on the back.., it doesn’t say which one, it only says this product cab expose you to chemicals which are known to the state of california to cause cancer , birth defects or other reproductive harm.
I wonder if they change the materials.

It’s probably due to the nickel in the steel. This can also have a Prop 65 warning and is not concerning in this application,
