Today in 2017 (almost 2018) things are being made and sold with high levels of toxic lead every single day! Think this is not true? Check out the following products and links! [Please click on each of the product images to read the full details about each of these products!]
I thought this would be a fun post to write and my readers would get a kick out of it too! These links are Amazon affiliate links. If (god forbid!) you should buy any of this toxic shit, I will get a small percentage of what you spend to support my advocacy work. PLEASE do not buy any of this stuff! Just click on the images and read the product descriptions to see how they proudly share that they are selling stuff made of lead! [Sometimes 20, 30, 40 or 100% lead even!]
The problem of course here is that in order to create these things not only are they creating toxic products at the end of the manufacturing process, but by perpetuating the need for the mining and refining of lead to create these products these companies are also contributing to the airborne lead on our planet – poisoning our atmosphere and soil and water in the process.
Maybe we should create a petition asking Amazon to stop selling leaded products? Hmmmm…. (one petition coming right up!) In the meantime feel free to post reviews on any of these product listings on Amazon and make sure to state that these products are toxic and Amazon should stop selling them. Maybe we can get that to happen! [like we got them to stop selling leaded fidget spinners!]

The text on this tube (which is hard to read on this image, but we found on another image of the same product) reads: “Pigment: Zinc oxide, PW4, Basic lead carbonate, PW1.”
Note: this one appears to possibly also be lead paint, but it is not 100% clear since several of the brands of artist paint use the language “Blanc de Plomb” for lead-like modern substitutes. I am waiting to hear back from the company to confirm. ($47.64 with free shipping):
Please let me know if you find any other good examples!
Thank you for reading and sharing my posts! & please do let me know if you have any questions at all!

Lol, the last one: “What the actual fuck” hahahaha! Omg. If we lived next door we would so be friends.

I just deleted the last one (the paint) because I want to 100% sure confirm it is lead paint. I have written the company and messaged some of my artist friends! I will let you know what happens and if it turns out that it is lead paint I will add it back to the post!

Look we can make our own leaded glass, and just wipe it clean. A whole roll of leaded tape, just color with some probably also toxic paint. Leaded tape because actual stain glass is just too safe, let’s increase the risk of lead poisoning. https://www.amazon.com/Pebeo-Vitrail-Stained-Effect-Adhesive/dp/B00462P58U/ref=sr_1_34?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1511567441&sr=1-34&keywords=leaded

It should be mandatory to put labels on the products about the lead content in the product or as responsible marketeers Amazon or any one else should display. Make the consumer aware of the dangers of lead. Hope let this Christmas bring a make beginning for the ethical marketing.

I had wondered about Lead fishing weights. I used em all the time as a child of 6-till 2012 and never thought much of it.
The butterflie weights have a place for pliers but I like my dad, just used our two front teeth to open them and then again to close one. I still see people doing it.
Thank you

Yeah – I remember fishing as a child (which I did every day in the summer off of my boat) and I did the same! Clamped the little weights with my teeth!
Emilee says
I did the same as a kid too with the lead foshing weights! Ugh!!!

All the Tiffany stained glass & lamps have a prop 65 warning for lead content. Unfortunately my grandma has an extensive collection of these.

Hey Tamara,
I paint glass items with Folkart Enamel paints and I often also use the same brand acrylic paints too. Have you ever tested Folkart paints before. They are made by Plaid Enterprises here in the U.S. I’m concerned about that now. I tried to do a search on leaded paints on your website, but to no avail. I am new to your website. Thank you so much for the work you do.
