When tested with an XRF instrument the “Mermaid Straws” pictured here had the following readings (with a 60 second test minimum unless otherwise noted):
Main rainbow metal color of straw (SS # 301):
- Chromium (Cr): 147,200 +/- 1,100 ppm
- Copper (Cu): 2,751 +/- 476 ppm
- Nickel (Ni): 86,500 +/- 1,700 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 733,900 +/- 2,400 ppm
- Vanadium (V): 945 +/- 261 ppm
- Titanium (Ti): 13,300 +/- 600 ppm
- Cobalt (Co): 3,072 +/- 1,415 ppm
- Magnesium (Mn): 10,900 +/- 1,300 ppm
Rubberized tips of scrub brush (30-second test):
- Chromium (Cr): 2,517 +/- 206 ppm
- Bromine (Br): 9 +/- 5 ppm
- Zinc (Zn): 36 +/- 19 ppm
- Copper (Cu): 68 +/- 35 ppm
- Nickel (Ni): 283 +/- 40 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 5,338 +/- 218 ppm
- Titanium (Ti): 4,788 +/- 609 ppm
Note: multiple areas of the straws were tested including the area with the logo to confirm the levels in the first reading set.
